With a day job as an Inglewood, CA high school teacher, and with a Master's degree from Columbia University, Defari defines the term "hip-hop scholar''. His straightforward rhyming style emphasizes positivity on the flipside he employs braggadocio tactics in dissing lesser rappers on his debut. Released February 9, 1999 on Tommy Boy Records.
