Above the Law's third album, Uncle Sam's Curse, shows the Los Angeles rap crew incorporating some of Dr. Dre's sonic innovations into their basic gangsta rap sound. The group remains fine rappers and several of the tracks rank among their finest work, but the album is little more than a holding pattern instead of moving forward, they're just keeping up with their contemporaries. Released July 12, 1994 on Ruthless/Relativity Records, the album peaked at #113 on the Billboard 200 chart and #15 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums.
