Ahmad's self-titled debut was G-funk lite. It avoided the gangsta violence and cultural criticism it's more about playground foolery and junior-high discovery, Ahmad wasn't able to capitalize on his success, and eventually faded from sight. But his debut is a memorable ride, with a youthful, effervescent vibe as warm as the California sun. Released May 24, 1994 on Giant/Reprise/Warner Bros. Records, the album peaked at #48 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums.
