Despite a relatively positive critical reception, the album did not perform well in the charts, struggling to sell more than 100,000 in its first week. The album was hampered during its production by sample clearance issues, which led to the final product being much different from what was originally intended. "The Sun", "The Watch" and "Good Times" failed to appear at all while tracks like "Flowers" were remixed with RZA re-constructing the original sample. Released November 13, 2001 on Epic/SME Records, the album peaked at #34 on the Billboard 200 chart and #2 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums.
